Fitbit Edge Leaks Again: GPS Tracker Expected in October 2026
A fresh wave of leaks this week has all but confirmed Google's next Fitbit tracker — a screen-equipped band priced at £159 for the UK market.
What you need to know
- The Fitbit Edge has leaked repeatedly this week, with the name confirmed by leaker Evan Blass on 8 October 2026
- UK pricing is reported at £159 — a £20 rise over the Fitbit Charge 6 — and the device is expected before the holiday season
- Leaked specs include a 1.34-inch AMOLED display, built-in GPS, ECG, SpO2, and up to seven days of battery life
Google's next Fitbit has leaked — again. A rolling series of disclosures across the first week of October 2026 has effectively confirmed the existence of the Fitbit Edge, a screen-equipped fitness tracker expected to launch this month at a UK price of £159. None of this has been officially announced by Google, but at this point the leaks are coming thick and fast.

How the leaks unfolded
The trail begins in August 2026, when Google accidentally showed an unannounced wearable in adverts promoting the Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5 — a device that had not been mentioned at the Made by Google event. A corresponding FCC filing then appeared in September under model number G8BL6, pointing to a wrist-worn device with Bluetooth LE, GNSS, a screen, and a charging base, but no Wi-Fi or cellular radio.
Things moved quickly once October arrived. On 5 October, Android Headlines was first to name the device publicly as the Fitbit Edge — until then, most outlets had been calling it the Fitbit Charge 7, for obvious reasons. The following day, French deal-forum site Dealabs published European and UK price figures: €179 in the Eurozone and £159 in the UK.
Then, on 8 October, prolific leaker Evan Blass posted images to social media that provided what amounts to effective confirmation of the Edge name, positioning the device in Google's lineup between the entry-level Fitbit Air and the premium Pixel Watch 5. As of today, Friday 9 October 2026, Google has still made no official announcement.
What the leaked specs show
According to leaked specification sheets reported across multiple outlets including 9to5Google and Android Authority, the Fitbit Edge would be equipped with the following — though none of this has been confirmed by Google:
- A 1.34-inch AMOLED display with an oval, bulbous shape — a deliberate departure from the rectangular screens on the Charge series
- Built-in GPS (GNSS), along with an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, SpO2 monitoring, ECG sensors, an ambient light sensor, and a step counter
- Health tracking for steps, distance, calories, sleep, menstrual cycle, skin temperature, VO2 max, cardiac load, atrial fibrillation detection, and irregular heart rhythm alerts
- More than 40 exercise modes with automatic activity detection
- Seven days of battery life, dropping to two days with always-on display enabled; full charge in two hours, with a fast-charge feature reportedly delivering 24 hours of use from just five minutes of charging
- 5ATM and IP68 water and dust resistance
- Bluetooth 5.4, compatibility with Android 11+ and iOS 16.4+, and a weight of 17.7g
- Fitbit OS with Gemini-powered personalised coaching
The leaked app list is deliberately modest: Google Maps, YouTube Music, Find My Phone, and phone notifications. This is a tracker with a handful of smart extras bolted on — not a full smartwatch, and not trying to be one.
Physical dimensions are reported as 11.58mm thick, 39.22mm tall, and 25.56mm wide. The leaked spec sheet also mentions support for Google Play integration and — unusually — a user-replaceable battery, though that detail has not been independently verified.
Design and colours
The design is perhaps the sharpest break from the Charge series. Rather than the familiar rectangular face, the Edge uses an oval display that, according to leaked images, extends closer to the edge of the case than any previous Fitbit tracker — which would explain the name.
According to leaks reported by Android Authority and GSMArena, the Edge will launch in four colour options:
- Obsidian & Matte Black
- Olive & Satin Pyrite
- Canyon & Champagne Gold
- Fog & Polished Silver
Price and where it sits in the market
The Dealabs-sourced pricing of £159 in the UK represents a £20 increase over the Fitbit Charge 6, which launched in October 2023 at £139.99. If that figure is accurate, the Edge would sit comfortably below the Pixel Watch 5 while offering considerably more than the screenless Fitbit Air — giving Google a meaningful mid-tier option in its wearable lineup for the first time in three years.
Crucially, unlike the Pixel Watch 5, the Edge is reported to work with iOS as well as Android. That is a significant selling point for a large portion of the UK market.
What comes next
Multiple outlets have inferred an October launch based on the volume and specificity of the leaks, and on the business logic of getting a new product onto shelves before the holiday shopping season. However, as Tech Advisor notes, that remains an inference — not a confirmed date — and a slip into November is entirely possible.
Google has made no official announcement. Specifications, pricing, and availability remain unconfirmed. Watch this space.
Why it matters
For UK buyers, the Fitbit Edge plugs a real gap in Google's wearable range. The Fitbit Air has no screen, and the Pixel Watch 5 is Android-only and costs considerably more. The Edge, if the leaks hold, would offer a colour display, built-in GPS and a week's battery life in a tracker that works with both Android and iPhone — all for £159. That puts it in genuine competition with Garmin's entry-level bands and Apple's base-model Watch SE, and it could be the most compelling Fitbit in years.
