What you need to know

  • Therabody launched two new devices on 20 October 2026: the ThermNeck & Upper Back (£299) and the ThermFace Massage (£179)
  • The ThermNeck combines percussive therapy, kneading, heat and infrared light in a cordless, wearable format aimed at tech neck sufferers

Therabody unveiled two new recovery devices on 20 October 2026 — the ThermNeck & Upper Back and the ThermFace Massage — bringing targeted percussive therapy to the neck, upper back, jaw and face for the first time in the brand's product range. Both went on sale immediately in the US and the UK, and early signs suggest British shoppers moved fast: the ThermNeck & Upper Back was already listed as sold out on Therabody.co.uk at the time of writing.

ThermNeck & Upper Back: a wearable built for the screen-addled

The ThermNeck & Upper Back is a cordless, wearable neck massager that combines five therapies in a single device: dual Theragun-powered percussive therapy, kneading massage, heat, far-infrared and near-infrared LED light therapy. It is designed to treat the neck and trapezius muscles and is aimed squarely at the growing number of people suffering from "tech neck" — the stiffness and pain caused by prolonged downward gazing at phones and screens.

The device offers three speed settings, three massage patterns and three adjustable heat levels, and arm slings allow users to control the pressure of the built-in Theraguns while the warmth does its work. Critically, it is cordless and hands-free, which Therabody says allows wearers to use it while sitting, standing or reclining. Battery life is rated at up to 180 minutes, though the company notes this may vary depending on the modality and intensity selected.

  • Weight: 4.61 lbs (approximately 2.1 kg)
  • Strap length: 47 inches; one size fits all
  • In the box: device, travel pouch and USB-C charging cord
  • Warranty: one-year limited warranty, 30-day returns

In the UK, the ThermNeck & Upper Back is priced at £299 and is listed as an online exclusive on Therabody.co.uk. It is also available at John Lewis at the same price. In the US, the retail price is $379.99. The device is FDA-registered and HSA/FSA accepted in the United States; Therabody has not confirmed equivalent UK regulatory designations.

ThermFace Massage: percussive therapy for the jaw and face

The ThermFace Massage is Therabody's first percussive facial massager, built specifically for the delicate muscles of the face, jaw and neck rather than for skincare. It features four specialist silicone attachments, each with a distinct purpose according to the company's product page:

  • Heated Percussive: eases tension and soreness with added warmth
  • Cone: targets tense muscles with precise, focused treatment
  • Dampener: gently treats sensitive and bonier areas
  • Wedge: delivers a flushing-style massage for larger muscle groups

The device operates at three speeds — Low (1,750 RPM), Medium (2,100 RPM) and High (2,400 RPM) — with a 5 mm amplitude. The Heated Percussive attachment reaches three heat levels: 42°C, 46°C and 50°C. Battery life is up to 70 minutes. It weighs under 0.6 lbs, and a 45-degree grip is designed to make the jaw, neck and facial muscles easier to reach.

ThermFace Massage connects to the Therabody app via Bluetooth, where guided routines for jaw pain, tension headaches and related complaints are available. The device saves the last-used settings automatically and includes a built-in travel lock to prevent accidental activation.

UK pricing is £179 via Therabody.co.uk, listed as an online exclusive. The device is also listed at John Lewis, though a confirmed price from that retailer was not available at the time of publication. The US price is $199.99.

What Therabody says

"We built these devices to address the tension that modern life concentrates in the neck, back, jaw and face. Bringing Therabody's science-backed approach to muscles most people have never been able to treat at home is something we're uniquely positioned to do." — Monty Sharma, CEO, Therabody

Context: where these fit in Therabody's range

Therabody was founded after Dr Jason Wersland — now the company's Chief Wellness Officer — developed the original Theragun in 2008 following a motorcycle accident that left him with severe muscle and nerve pain. The brand's ecosystem has since expanded to include the JetBoots, PowerDot, TheraFace and TheraCup product lines, as well as digital wellness content and in-person experiences through its Reset® studios.

The two new launches extend the portfolio into more specialised muscle groups that the existing range does not address. Therabody is also releasing limited-edition holiday colourways of two existing TheraFace products simultaneously: the TheraFace Depuffing Wand in Champagne Toast, Silver Bells and Winter Berry, and the TheraFace Mask in Blush Pink.

Where to buy in the UK

Both the ThermNeck & Upper Back and the ThermFace Massage launched on Therabody.co.uk on 20 October 2026. The ThermNeck is also confirmed at John Lewis for £299. Prospective buyers should check stock availability directly, given the sold-out status recorded at launch on the Therabody UK site.

Why it matters

With remote and hybrid working now a fixture of British professional life, neck and upper-back pain from prolonged screen use has become a mainstream health complaint rather than a niche one — and Therabody is betting that a wearable recovery device is a more compelling answer than a foam roller or a trip to a physio. The hands-free ThermNeck, with up to three hours of battery life, is designed to slot into daily routines without demanding dedicated downtime, which could genuinely broaden the audience for percussive therapy beyond committed gym-goers. The ThermFace, meanwhile, targets a gap that jade rollers and gua sha tools don't fill: the muscles of the jaw and face rather than the skin, making it a different category of product despite the superficial similarity to beauty tools. Both devices selling out immediately in the UK suggests the market agrees there's something here worth paying for.
